Mrs. Mendez's background included working in development for Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, Mrs. Mendez moved to Houston following Hurricane Katrina in 2006. Her faith grew as she joined and became co-leader of the West University Baptist chapter of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). After serving as MOPS nursery coordinator, she became a preschool teacher for West University Baptist’s A Children’s Village. After earning a Master of Education, Mrs. Mendez taught first grade for HISD. In 2019, Mrs. Mendez joined Veritas where she has taught PreK-4 and kindergarten. Her greatest joy is sharing the stories of Jesus with her students and teaching them to be brave in the Lord.
