This page will outline a few medical guidelines and procedures for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. We appreciate the continued partnership of our families in helping to provide a safe and healthy environment for our school community.
If you have any specific questions for the School Nurse regarding the following school day, email email@example.com by 7 p.m. every evening, and our nurses will attempt to respond that evening to your question.
Deciding if Your Child Should Stay Home
Parents agreeing and knowing when to keep children home from school is a very important part of keeping our campus healthy. To help, we have outlined key protocols to help families determine when a child should stay home. All NO answers mean that your child may return to campus.
IMPORTANT: If at any point your child is feeling well enough, they may participate in school remotely until returning to campus. If a student tests positive with COVID-19, they cannot return to campus until after at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms as well as fever-free and symptom-free for 24 hours without medication (subject to change based on CDC Guidelines).
Will there be a school nurse on campus throughout the day?
Yes, a school nurse will be on campus throughout the school day.
What if a student has symptoms, exposure, or contracts COVID-19?
We expect parents to remain in close communication with the school’s nurses. If your child is exposed to or contracts COVID-19, please email only the school nurses at firstname.lastname@example.org and your department head (Mrs. Gallegos or Mrs. Delgado), or call 713-773-9605. The School will work closely with the family, our Medical Advisory Team, and the Harris County Health Department to help guide the decision when a student can return to school.
Will parents be notified if a student or staff member is diagnosed with COVID-19?
Veritas will use Harris County Public Health’s Guidelines. Communication regarding COVID-19 health alerts in our community will be HIPPA compliant.
