Core Values
1. TRUTH
- Scripture, the revealed word of God, is taught as truth. As Christian educators we recognize that all truth is from God. Students learn that all of God's creation is a further revelation of His truth and that the truth revealed in creation accords with the truth revealed in Scripture.
- Students learn that they are uniquely and wonderfully created in the image of God. This crucial truth helps them understand not only their own worth as individuals but also the value of others.
- Students confront the reality of sin and redemption. They are encouraged to accept Jesus Christ as their savior and are nurtured and encouraged in their faith.
2. BIBLICAL INTEGRATION
- The entire school curriculum is permeated with God’s Word. Faith and learning are integrated in such a way as to develop students who do not compartmentalize the spiritual life from the rest of life.
- Students develop a godly perspective on humanity, the development of culture and how they should live in the world.
- Students learn how to deal with the challenges of life victoriously, in difficult circumstances and with difficult people.
3. POTENTIAL IN CHRIST
- The goal of every learning experience at Veritas is to enable students to reach their full potential in Christ. That objective requires us as educators to focus on every student's potential and strive to develop intellectual excellence through the academic disciplines and every planned curricular activity.
- Students are taught to understand their responsibility to society, including the importance of serving and encouraging others.
- A Veritas education leads students beyond the inward focus of serving self to the outward focus of leading a life that honors God now and anticipates living and reigning with Christ in eternity.
4. ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICE
- All of the school business and operational practices are biblically based, resulting in a moral and ethical center to policy development and implementation.
- Every Veritas family is recognized as a valued member of the larger school family.
5. FACULTY
- The entire school board, administration, faculty and staff are professing Christians who not only know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior but also model a Christ-like example in their living, teaching and leading.
- Students see the faith of their teachers as essential and relevant. The vision of the faculty is that the students acquire knowledge, wisdom and a biblical worldview evidenced by a Christian lifestyle of character, leadership, service, stewardship and worship.
